FUNCTION

Recommend means and methods to increase information and data sharing and community awareness of available resources for mental health and crisis situations, collaborating with local partners to disseminate information effectively.

Develop pilot projects and increase efforts to secure housing options, crisis diversion opportunities, and educational resources on mental illness, with the goal of supporting individuals in the community and reducing the need for institutional care when possible.

Advance education on how mental health crisis situations are handled across the county's various systems (e.g., law enforcement, human services, healthcare) to preventatively reduce the amount of time and resources expended while simultaneously improving outcomes for people in mental health crisis situations.
