2026 SEASONAL ROAD WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS 

 

Effective Monday, April 20, 2026 at 7:00 am, seasonal weight restrictions for spring thaw will be
lifted on all Marinette County highways from County Trunk Highway X and southward.

Effective Monday, April 27, 2026 at 6:00 a.m., seasonal weight restrictions for spring thaw will
be lifted on all Marinette County highways north of CTH X except for County Highway I. The posted weight
restrictions will remain on CTH I until further notice.

Gross weight restrictions under Wisconsin Statute No. 349.16 are as follows:

Axle Weight Limit:
One Axle – 6 Tons
Any Two Axles (Under 8 Feet Apart) – 10 Tons (5 Tons per Axle)

Permits to operate in excess of these limits will be granted for emergency situations only. Overweight/Oversize
permits can be obtained from the Highway Department in Peshtigo, or downloaded from the website at
http://www.marinettecounty.com/departments/highway/general-information/, in the Forms & Documents link.
Carriers are encouraged to suspend operations and contact the Marinette County Highway Department if visible
road damage is encountered.
