The Marinette County Land & Water Resources Management (LWRM) plan was developed to assist agencies that manage land to protect and improve water resources in Marinette County. This process was created through amendments to Wisconsin State Statutes during the development of the 1997 - 1998 Biennial Budget Bill. Marinette County must have an LWRM Plan approved by the State Department of Agriculture and the Wisconsin Land & Water Conservation Board in order to receive state support and cost-sharing funds.
Marinette County uses LWRM funds primarily for staff & support, environmental education programs, and cost-sharing agricultural Best Management Practices for water quality.
