D.A.V. Van PhotoVeterans requiring transportation to VAMC, Iron Mountain, Michigan should call the Transportation Hotline 10-14 days in advance of their appointment. All appointments should be scheduled no earlier than 8:30 a.m. with late appointments ending by 2:30 p.m.
Only veterans that have a scheduled appointment are allowed to ride, we cannot transport those wanting Urgent Care.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY-DUE TO A SHORTAGE OF VOLUNTEER DRIVERS, TRANSPORTATION SERVICES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULED ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS-UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
When calling the hotline please provide the following information:

  • Name
  • Telephone Number
  • Date of Appointment
  • Time of Appointment(s)

    Veterans will be contacted by the DAV Coordinator Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, usually by 9:30 a.m. on the day of their call.

    Veterans must be ambulatory in order to ride. We are sorry, but
    cannot transport if you require a walker or wheelchair to ambulate.
    Veterans needing oxygen cannot be transported.

    Volunteer driver's are always needed, please contact us for more information or to apply.

    Office Hours:  Transportation requests can be made 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on our hotline. DAV coordinator returns messages and answers hotline Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30-9:30 A.M. If time permits, calls will be answered or messages returned until 4:30 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
